Thabang Mankga, widely known in chess circles as “Rhino,” continues to prove his dominance on the chessboard. The talented player has maintained an incredible record at tournaments hosted by PEPPS Polokwane Preparatory School and College, remaining undefeated in every event held at the venue.
On 7 March 2026, Rhino once again showcased his exceptional skill by winning the 3rd Edition of the Capricorn District Open 2026, finishing with an impressive 5.5 out of 6 points.
The tournament brought together strong players from across the district, creating a highly competitive atmosphere. Despite the tough opposition, Rhino displayed remarkable focus, calculation, and positional understanding, qualities that have made him one of the most feared players in local tournaments.
