Historic First Win on PEPPS’ – New Hockey Astro
PEPPS Polokwane Preparatory School and College marked a historic moment with an impressive 4–1 victory over Mitchell House in their very first match on the newly built hockey astro. The occasion was more than just a game—it was a celebration of growth, excellence, and a new chapter for hockey at PEPPS.
The match lived up to expectations, delivering an intense and competitive display from both sides. Mitchell House came out strong, showing determination and skill, but PEPPS responded with composure and attacking flair. As the game progressed, PEPPS began to dominate possession and create scoring opportunities, eventually securing a convincing 4–1 win. The players demonstrated teamwork, discipline, and a strong desire to make their first match on the new surface one to remember.

Before the match, the official opening of the hockey astro took place on 18 March 2026 in a proud and symbolic ceremony. The facility was formally opened by Dr Ledwaba, Chairperson of the PEPPS Trust Board, alongside Mrs Korff, Executive Head of PEPPS Schools, and Mr Afonso, FECHS Coordinator and hockey coach. Their presence highlighted the importance of this development, not only for the school but for the broader sporting community.

The new hockey astro represents a significant investment in sports development at PEPPS, providing learners with a high-quality facility to train, compete, and grow their talents. It also places the school in a stronger position to host competitive fixtures and tournaments in the future.
This memorable victory sets the tone for what promises to be an exciting season ahead. With a world-class facility and a determined group of players, PEPPS hockey is clearly on an upward path.
The day will be remembered not only for the scoreline but for the spirit of achievement and the beginning of a new era in PEPPS sport.
